The One and Only. Radical. Iconic. These are just words and i enjoy words.
The Clarks Desert Boot is 65 years old this year, which if you think about it is a long time not many things live or last 65 years. Too celebrate and mark this noteworthy historic occasion Clark's have launched the 'CLARK'S REBOOTED'. This is a global initiative where Clark's have used there industrial might to amass 14 UK based artists and designers to celebrate the brand by creating a series of special edition Desert Bookstand one off pieces of art. An Exhibition of the Desert Boots and artwork is currently on a world tour, culminating in London this Autumn with a special event and online auction. In good spirits Clarks decided that what better way to celebrate than sales generated from both the Desert Boots and artworks created will raise funds to support the HALO TRUST. All proceeds of the auction benefit Halo, while 5% of every pair of Desert Boots sold will be donated to charity. What better way to celebrate.
For more than 25 years, Halo has been clearing land mines in post conflict zones the world over. Its work is invaluable, transforming the lives of thousands of refugees displaced by conflict. While reducing casualties, the organisation also works to revive land ravaged by war. Farmers can put food on the table, families can return to their homes and children can walk to school safely. If the name of the charity rings a bell thats probably because people like Princess Diana and her sons have done good work with them.
But thats not the only way Clarks are celebrating they are realising a limited edition colour way, for one season only! After digging through their archives, which consists of over 22,000 shoes, they rediscovered their Loden Green Desert Boots. Crafted using suede from Stead, they were first introduced in the 1960s; the shoe will be finish with Brass eyelets for a premium touch. On top off the very special run the Clarks Desert Boot will also get seasonal colour updates for men in Rust, Bronze and seductive Midnight Blue.
