Priory x Le Coq Sportif Party

08 05, 2017

Last Thursday (27th April), we held a party in collaboration with Le Coq Sportif, as our Yorkshire pride inspired us to throw an event that got our friends and family ready for the Tour de Yorkshire. Being that one of our main men, Vince, is an avid lover of the sport, it only seemed right to bring together the misfit team that is Priory and the most influential sports brand in the cycling world. The shop was decorated with Le Coq Sportif memorabilia and apparel that we stock, to showcase an element of the company’s heavy involvement in the garment provision of cycling’s greatest races; this was accompanied by our staff’s very own bikes and gear, as we didn’t want to leave out our love of the sport. A projection ran through the night, displaying footage of the Tour de France highlights to enhance the essence of our cycling focused event. All in all, I believe that the night achieved what we aimed for and more, therefore it is important not to forget a special mention to Toby and the team at Le Coq Sportif for their cooperation and great company, an obligatory thank you to Bellerose Beers for supplying a taste of France’s specialist beer, and of course to Amo La Pizza for ensuring we didn’t go hungry throughout the night.

After all of the consumption of beer and food the night before, we hit to the streets to get a roadside view of the Tour de Yorkshire as it passed through its first location - and fortunately for Vince and Jack, they managed to get involved with the commissaire car by joining them on the journey of the race. As fellow inhabitants of Yorkshire, we were proud to see the culture of our county (God’s County) flourish with attention from the nation, and it was perfectly showcased by our love of the sport and Le Coq Sportif with the party the night before. Now, some of us may not of felt 100% on the day of the race, but it was still worthwhile enjoying the seaside sunshine as the racers biked past.
